I bought a cool mist filter humidfier with the idea of putting back the moisture in the air we all suffer from allergies. The humidfier is great, but the filters are terrible! Within 3 weeks I had to replace the wick because of mold. Blech ... If I knew that I would change the filters every 3 weeks, I had purchased a case of them from the jump. Well, hindsight is 20/20. Run Dries up filter! Regards ... to maintain the filter mold is easy if you remember a little mold and its life cycle. Mold must have moisture to grow. So, what we do is just enough water into the place last night - I think about two cups. I have run in the morning until they explode all the moisture out of it, so I pop the lid so it can soak up the sun - as vampires hate the sun is dying!
