The "cheaper" ones (significantly cheaper) that you can buy on line as well, the reviews said don't work very well at all, so I "bit the bullet" and spent the money for the "real ones". By Oni Sioson The product advertised on the page, which I purchased showed it neatly packaged, clearly indentifying it as manufactured by Honeywell and was the reason I decided to buy it, believing it to be a Honeywell filter. Unfortunately the filters I received were not individually packaged making identification impossible, which aroused my suspicion as to whether what I ordered and paid for was what I was sent.I immediately contacted Amazon and was given a refund. Litton This unit sucks water from the air by the gallons. I set it up in my finished basement and right out of the box it worked great. So well, in fact, I needed to empty the large capacity tank too often. So I opened up the back hose valve, connected a short garden hose and pointed it to the floor drain. The unit kept filling up the tank and did not drain out the hose :-(. It appears that the hose drain in the back just works on gravity--there's no pump. So if the floor is not level and/or if the hose is a little narrower than the male connector on the back of the unit (as most are) the water will not drain through the hose the valve. The fault is poor product design. To remedy, I bought a right-angle PVC adapter, barb adapter and clear tubing (to visually see whether it was working) from Flex PVC.com. Parts: "508-007 FGH by .75 FPT (female NPT) 90degree", "PPN46 3/4 mpt x 1/2 barb adapter", and "1/2 x 5/8 Clear Tubing BTF". The right angle adapter is large and maintains the 3/4" garden hose opening from end to end. Once assembled and attached I experimented and found the correct position for the dehumidifier which is on a slightly uneven floor. Now the water drains through the hose (which I can watch through the clear hose) and it works as it should. Frigidaire should provide this setup to all users that need to use the hose valve in the back until they fix the design issue. I keep the unit running continuously and it gives off more heat than I would like, heating up the basement which is usually cool in the summer. But it's somewhat unavoidable with this technology so I will take heat over humidity. It is used in my heated basement, which I want extra-dry as my firearms and other sensitive items are stored there. After six months it started making a lot of noise. I checked it and found that the cooling coils were completely iced up, totally blocking the air flow. I let it defrost completely and tried again, with the same icing resulting after a few hours. I checked the manual. which gave "room temperature is too low" as the cause. Doubtful, I thought, but it is winter and only about 60 degrees in here. So I waited to spring and tried again. Now there is no cooling effect at all, and no water output. Obviously the icing was from the cooling fluid leaking, and finally it all leaked out resulting in the total lack of operation. This is my second Frigidaire dehumidifier. The first had a fan motor failure after six months. Obviously Frigidaire is no longer synonymous with quality. By the way, it is not possible to contact Frigidaire customer service by their 800 number. The option for "speak to a representative" results in the computer giving a long-distance number to call. My family and I moved from Southern California (where we slept with the windows open nearly year round for wonderful, well rested sleep) to Phoenix, Arizona (where the humidity hovers at most to 15% in my house according to my hygrometer.) After a month (and before we got the humidifier), my kids (3 and 1) were absolutely suffering. During the night, they were choking and hacking, wheezing and just plugged up. I was no different. Needless to say, our sleep was badly affected. I knew it was the air situation. After 3 nights of researching the different types of humidifiers, I finally settled on buying two Air O Swiss 7144 units (one for each kid's room). Although it was expensive, I buy things for the long haul and figured better to spend up front then have problems with cheaper models down the road. I have since turned it on absolutely every single night for them and the difference is short of miraculous. Here are some points: 1- a full tank lasts two nights running at 8 hours a night with the windows closed and the door nearly shut (about an inch ajar at most) 2- tank is not difficult to fill. I use one 3 gallon water bottle (normally used for my drinking water dispense) to completely fill up both humidifier units 3- to maximize space and thus get the most water into the humidifier, I removed the demineralization cartridge and use only reverse osmosis drinking water for my unit. I have had ZERO WHITE DUST. The R.O. water is purified enough that there are no remaining minerals to be churned out as white dust. This trick also saves me from having to replace the cartridge. (BTW, our tap water is VERY hard so I didn't want to use it even with the demineralization cartridge because why make the machine work harder than it has to?) R.O. water is perfect and again, NO WHITE DUST AT ALL!!!! 4- It's so quiet, it's ridiculous. I LOVE that. 5- The warm mist feature is perfect. It does not raise the temperature of the room so it's never like a sauna. The air leaving the machine even at warm mist feels somewhat cool (and the first night I kept checking in on the kids to make sure I wasn't freezing them) but the unit actually heats the water to 104 degrees which is just the right temp at maintaining room temp (no moist saunas!!) and/or preventing steam burn to your finger in case a curious little one chooses to wave his/her hand in the mist. 6- I've religiously used the units each night for the last 3 months with absolutely no problem. 7- The buttons don't light up or create distracting glows. Important for me because I wanted the kids' rooms to remain relatively dark as that's what they're used to. 8- There is no leaking or condensation on the unit. The mist is so fine that it evaporates before it touches the little folding dinner tray table that I have each unit placed on. The carpet underneath doesn't feel soggy or anything. It truly produces an ultrafine mist that dissipates almost immediately. 9- I can adjust the flow and humidity to my liking (to get 2 nights' worth of output from one tank, I set it on warm mist at the lowest air flow at 55% humidity) 10- It automatically shuts off when it runs out of water. There is a blinking light that indicates that the machine is on "On" but there's no water. I usually press the off button the after the second night's use. If I forget to press off and fill the tank up on the third night, I noticed that since the machine is technically "on" (even though there's no sound or movement indicating that), as soon as I put the filled tank back on the unit, it immediately starts working on the settings I last set it on. 11- I have yet to use the cool mist (since it's still winter) but I read that it actually helps to maintain (at the very least) or slightly lower the room temp which is convenient in summer months. I thought the second one was defective because it made strange noises, but it turned out that the bookcase on which I placed it wasn't stable. Moved to a level surface, it works perfectly. Today, the other one leaked, but only because I'd splashed water into the housing when I filled it. After draining, cleaning and re-assembly, it also worked perfectly. The other reviewers seem not to have read the instruction booklet, because this is the easiest humidifier in the world to care for. If you clean the parts in the dishwasher (no detergent, no heat dry), the only other thing you need to do is wipe down the interior of the housing. As to the demineralization cartridges, you need never replace them if you purchase a blank cartridge (available from kaz.com or honeywellcomfort.com) and use only distilled water. (I suppose you could indefinitely use the cartridge that it came with if you're using distilled water.) While the motor is quiet (if installed correctly--which the manual emphasizes more than once), the "waterfall" makes the sort of noise one would expect--not too loud, but ever-present. I find it relaxing, but if absolute quiet is required, then it will be a disappointment. I plan to buy another of these for my daughter and grandson, because I've never been happier with a humidifier. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Very Misleading By K. Johnson I bought this to put in my daughters room. It is labled Small, for room size. It says "quiet operation" and "no filters to replace". Not so. It's quiet if you are at a bus station, or are considerably deaf. At night, in a small child's room, it Buzz's like Mr. Lightyear and makes TINKLING noise as the water is streamed through the device. In addition it has a BLUE LIGHT that you cannot turn off. WHile there is no "filter" it does require you to buy and replace a "Demineralization" cartridge every 20-30 fillings. What's the difference? I still have to buy and replace parts. I like that the component parts fit in my dishwasher but I don't like that there are 7 or 8 different pieces and there are 3 cleaning schedules in the operation book. Descaling, cleaning and bleaching. The fan is noisy and the "waterfall" is loud. Forget it. I'm going back to Walgreens and getting the one I bought my other daughter. Brand Our Angelcare Angelcare Baby Movement and Sound Monitor, Blue baby monitor alarm went off one night because my baby wasn't breathing enough (has to breathe at least every 20 seconds). It was because he was so congested. But, he was not sick at all. So, we bought this unit for his room a week ago. Not thrilled about it. If it was in my bedroom I would hate it. But, it is in my baby's room instead. He likes the white noise it generates and the blue light is okay in there. The box says "virtually silent" - um, not so much. I can not help but to hear it 20 feet away (like an annoying fan running). I think the blue light is to help kill off bacteria or something in the water. It is quieter than the Honeywell cool mist humidifier in my room but we are used to that noise. We have been using the old Honeywell for over 7 years. I would buy another one of those if I could. There are 2 things I do not like about it. 1.) it makes the carpet around it moist so we put a plastic boot tray down to capture the mist. And, 2.) it is foggy in our house now on both the 1st and 2nd floors. It goes away a little bit after we turn the unit off. The other day I refilled it (super easy) and it wouldn't put out any mist. I thought I was the same OEM product than previously given. However, the filters are shown as received in the photograph, and are not the same as the original, although labeling. I still do not know how well they will work. Maybe they are better (?), But it was not what I expected. Dry, they are smaller than the specified dimensions and completely fill the air flow path, but I've found that they expand to fill the space when wet. I gave them a try (to save money) and I'm sorry. When I use these pads humidifier can humidify the house properly. I think the problem is that the foam is made. The holes are too small / tight and the air does not flow through them. This means they are very inefficient. I am very pleased with these filters and not buy them anymore. Reed ultrasonic humidifier I bought this a year ago for my two children, who seem to always be crowded, either cold or seasonal allergies or dry air of our A / C. Before that, we passed a couple of humidifiers (cold or warm mist) per season, or because it broke, he did a good job, leaked, or were too difficult to clean. This humidifier works like a dream and is very easy to clean. I love that I can rotate the output to the desired amount of fog. It is super quiet, too. I know others have said they had problems with them or be too noisy noisy after a while, but I did not have this problem. I also read that some complain of the demineralization cartridge is not working for as long or cost too much. I can not agree and sympathize, but people ... and You do not need to buy, use the cartridge simply distilled water. It does the same work, and you can choose Gallong jugs from the grocery store. During this humidifier is easy to clean, the manufacturer recommends that you clean the tank every two to three weeks - and the water supply and ultrasonic nebulizers, behind a cover are made of POPs. When your ultrasound, you never go back By Liangatang With winter upon us, my wife and I first bought a standard humidifier boils water in a hot steam. It worked well in getting the air "wet" and raising the temperature of the room a bit - but need to refuel and clean the thing almost on a daily basis was very boring He also has a small but significant amount of noise created when the water was bubbling. In the end, the tank has a small tear that threw away the pressure, so it leaked everywhere. Fast forward to our new humidifier Sharper Image. He filled the tank, turned, and fog instantly! I've probably played with the thing 5min - just amazed at ultrasonic technology. There literally is just a small plate that vibrates at high frequency that mist, fog and steam. Different level settings to work properly - is not only a high, med, low - is a disk rotation, so it is easy to get the exact output you want. We found that a mid-high level will keep your room in a nice fluid and the tank will take 3-4 days (runs only at night). Noise level is almost silent The best part? The inside doesn't get a disgusting since it's ultrasonic - so no more daily cleaning! After a month of use I opened the thing up to scrub it down, and there was barely any residue or film to clean. The negatives? You will get the "white dust" around the room if you don't put demineralization tablets in a on monthly basis, and having a cool mist can be a little chilling in the winter until your heating catches up with it. All in all we highly recommend this humidifier. Vicks Humidifiers by Eileen Türnberg After several reviews of humidifiers that all gave mixed opinions, which I ignored them all and took this humidifier at the local pharmacy for $ 32nd This humidifier is small, about 11 "WX6" Dx13 "H, so it is suitable to lay on the floor or on a desk. It consists of two main parts, a white plastic base and a clear blue plastic container. The base has two sliding switches. If you turn on / off and the other regulates the amount of water vapor released into the air. The blue container sits on top of the base, and has a handle on top and a round screw-in part. underside of the container supplied complete with a filter that goes on the bottom is a round piece on top of the tank, which turns to adjust and direct stream of water vapor Benefits: ... one is my opinion that it is quiet, much quieter than the Bemis humidifier I had previously wicking. The noise level is comparable to a desk fan that makes noise of water, but I think smooth, but it could be a hassle. 2. It runs for a long time without recharging. With the smallest container of water will last a couple of days of continuous operation. At the highest setting that needs to be refilled once a day. 3. It has no fuse, they start to smell the humidifier on your age. 4. No chemical should be added to avoid the scum growing on it. 5. You can see the water vapor released into the air (so they know their work). 6. See-through containers. You do not have to open it to see how much water is left. 7. It is recommended to be cleaned with a damp cloth and a solution of bleach and water and rinse well. We have extremely soft water, so do not know how long the filter that comes with the humidifier will last or how it works in places with hard water. From Mom tampa I had an old model for 7 years and was probably just trying to see if I could get another. I remember when I bought it I had a problem making it work. And 'water sensor can be touchy. I took it again and got a new one. I have had absolutely no problem with it in seven years! It is still working to this day I have a small crack in the Water Tank but it is not leaking yet. It runs so quiet and humidifies the air nicely. When the kids are sick I lug it from room to room because the other three humifiers I have stuck under my bathroom sink are loud and do not put out as much mist. Quality has a dip from RA Voigt Although this replacement fits very well in the group, the quality is nothing like the original that I had before. Hall was originally built almost entirely of a sort of expanded aluminum design. This substitution does not seem to have metal inside. It seems to be more convenient as a paper-coating material. Certainly not as good. I think this is just another example of products to be cheaper. Just because it is known as Honeywell, does not reflect what I expect from them. Previously we had with the old Vick evaporates, but only put out in about 6 hours and had some other problems in getting mineral content in the water just right. In any case, this is without doubt the best I've ever used humidfier. The decor was a little confusing at first (small parts went where. Tube hole through the tank a little confusing, but once I understood how it works, I did not spill water everywhere. Humidfier For one, it has an amazing number of options. Warm Mist vs. Cool, I had always used "warm mist", but my wife would "cool mist" that was the only one who had both. Warm and cool are relative terms, however. When I think of heat haze, I think of the Vicks scald yourself when you get too close. It warms up the space in the plant. This device is a kind of warm mist warm. It takes a few minutes to warm up and if you put your hand out, you can feel his hot but not boiling hot, it will pre-heat water before it hits the spray. In the cold mist evaporates it right. You have two exit-exit control, relative humidity and mist volume for the lack of a better term. Think about how the fan speed (but no fan) You can set the humidity and spits water if necessary. I do not know where the sensor is, but the position of the output nozzel can really influence the reading. The tank appears to contain enough water for 24 hours of production or 2-3 nights of use. The only thing I have ever experienced cabinet was a chemist who broke out the right things run for 15 minutes then. Li to mention me to a local Bed Bath and Beyond or find virtually silent humidifier. Vendors introduced this Air-O-Swiss as the best machine on the market, he added Venta-Sonic does the same job, but costs $ 50 less, and all other brands can not compare. I bought both units to compare. Air-O-Swiss is a clear winner, hands down. The two machines sat side by side. Course directly for all Air-O-Swiss is quieter. Even at the highest setting, Air-O-Swiss' noise level and frequency is lower than the Venta-Sonic, and they nicely blend into the background. They give me headaches as Venta-Sonic. At lower settings, to Air-O-Swiss virtually silent. The Air-O-Swiss on, I slept very well. The next night was Venta night. Unfortunately, the basic machine sounds as bad as the first unit I returned earlier for noise problems. I tried to sleep with, but after a few hours, headaches and agitation from the noise made me turn off and turn on the Air-O-Swiss and slept through afterwards. I held units every two days and nights to see the result of continuous operation after three days.

Vicki was very disappointing was looking for a humidifier (or humidifiers) to my 1900 SF home, and was excited when I came across this model, as it was compact and not as bad as console humidifiers I've seen. Place in my house is a bit "limited, so I liked the fact that its vertical design would provide flexibility in placement. Also, I had luck with in the past Bemis (H12 had two units of the console in black, as a For some reason no longer makes Bemis), so I thought I'd give it a chance. My intention was to order another if it worked well as output of humidifiers are generally quite overwhelming, and I knew that he needed more capacity. What a disappointment! unit has only two speeds, high speed and is strong. Now I know that putting a lot of moisture in the air is necessary to have a pretty good ventilation fan but this is ridiculous. Much stronger than the H12 I had earlier also, the humidity setting only roles, so you must do to return to ride the lowest position. I think that's really more a minor annoyance, but it was disappointing. But the real problem was that the device just does not add moisture to the air. We left it running all night, and barely had the water to evaporate overnight. When we look at the device, there is a big mistake in design, unlike most humidifiers, which air moves into the unit through the wick (which it picks up moisture), in this model, the air is sucked in near the top, and even drove to the top, while the wick is lower in the unit, so most of the air just past the wick. I returned this unit, and must plunge and buy another console H12 unit. I already have a Honeywell HCM-300T, but it is only rated 3 liters per day and used in my bedroom at night. I'm waiting for him to "die" because I like the fact that the cold air reaches the bottom of the unit, doing a project on the ground considered the unpleasant Honeywell 6011i, but I like the fact with two bottles of water (less desirable ), and blows air through the side and not the top. The rattle persists on both low and high speeds. When the clicking stops, the noise is bearable, but the calm did not last. Moving the linoleum tile unit makes no difference. I got the penguin humidifier Muench a week ago after research various brands, some are expensive, filter, large, warm ones, etc., and I read the reviews of a leak or break on this, and there have been some complaints particularly about almost all there - always some problems. (! And the fact that it is ridiculously adorable) So, it costs $ 30 seemed to cover what I needed: something that was not expensive, not too big and bulky, smaller reservoir so more fresh water through the (and less water sitting around getting ookey) and would add humidity where ever it is "was published almost nonstop for a week, sometimes less coverage, or when we were out, and it worked perfectly. The tank body, even when running on a high, has lasted at least 16 hours. I had no problems with white dust on everything like my old-fashioned gigantic noisy one (I use tap water) and do not spray water droplets in the fog either. It's certainly made a difference running at night in the bedroom - no noses and throats feeling 'dry as dust' in the AM. The penguin has a small footprint, about 9 "in diameter and 12.75" high. It runs almost silently, but it makes a noise and dripping sounds really like our tabletop fountain. The sound is pleasant during the day but had on me during the night, I did not use sound and I thought it leaking when it was So now I have to go for a while before going to bed and sleep much better at everything. To think about ... opening in the tank, there is a screw cap with a valve spring (as it is at the bottom of your coffee maker basket). There must be a silicone ring that fits on top of the lid. Our ring was inside the opening, and since it was clear-ish can be easily lost. The ring can cause the cover is leaking if not properly seated and the cover must be tightened easily. Once filled and corrected (there's even a small handle to carry it) just leak a little out of the spring-valve. Check that nothing prevents the pressure valve spring (not filled) and the flap is not folded. Use only cold water in the tank, and if the water is boiling, wait for it to room temperature before using. With the warm water can definitely cause this plastic to crackle and crack down on the body must be square "butt" or it can dribble over the edge a bit. We have absolutely no problem with this little baby, and when I do I will update my posting. It has a nice rocker on-off switch on his left buttock. "The one button on the front (I call it his bellybutton) to adjust volume of the nebula, even on high it is has not dripping. Mitchell, I bought this last year for half the price of the HDC-411, but put them aside as soon as I saw it was not Emerson / Essick HDC-411. Taken with a sudden desire to spend my humidifier filters Emerson, I now use them, and they stink! Advantages: Not as in "Golly, they are worthless junk, but at least I have a few dollars!" CONS: Low - will not stand up and support the shroud funnels. Fragile - not enough material to establish and maintain a mass of water on the way filters work at Emerson cheaply made - rather than layer of bodies prepared fan-fold filter, this is a great touch on just a few thin layers of filter paper coated on both sides of the thin sheet aluminum core. Short term: I'm used to use to get 75-90 days Emerson / Essick HDC-411 filters, but they can not just two weeks! The problem is the lack of material. Save your money and pay for the real thing (look at pictures and watch out for trick words like "businesses" which often means that the product has nothing to do with the product you want! You need to conveniently mount the camera to keep the filter that comes and the sides of the filter chamber is dirty. If it was a little larger to fit nicely around, but unfortunately there is precisely targeted to not do a good job of filtering. Then the beads are not of the same density as the original product comes with a vacuum. I am very disappointed with these filters. I bought two packages, so we have 4 filters for me to change the filter after each blank so you can keep all my other filters clean and new. They do such a poor job that the dirt comes to the next filter and HEPA filter. If this filter is kept clean to maintain its optimum aspiration. Cool Mist Humidifier Model # 33201 Hunter with pianist I read the other reviews and I can understand your disappointment, but I've never bought a humidifier table of all brands that passed the test of time during prolonged use. I bought mine from Walmart recently, and looks good so far and a bit "noisy slower speed than I had hoped, but I am interested in keeping my family and all my pets healthy during the cold winter months. I have 90 days to return it to Walmart with my box and receipt I would not be pleased with him or becomes defective within 90 days from date of purchase. also offers the manufacturer a guarantee on Hunter five years to return to them (your shipping costs) and the would send you back to another unit at no cost to you. I just do not do things now, like last time. Not easy, but it works by Charles B. Goodenow This is the third winter I have used this humidifier. It does the job, working 24 / 7. I learned it is best done in med or high. I keep it in a corner far away from where we sit. All humidifiers leave deposits behind to clean. How much depends on water. I have very hard water. Give it a wash every week and rubbed on a good month. At the end of the season to fill the bottom with vinegar and let it run for an hour out of the house with the tank out. This becomes hard water deposits off the pump body and rotor. Clean and store until next year. It will last for years. The wicks are still ongoing in great shape and looking new. With mom of two Ah, the joy of winter, dry air and the need for humidifiers to help us breathe a little easier. I have 4 of this model include Hunter humidifier. The first was triggered by accident when we moved. We have electric heating in the ceiling like an oven broiler, so I have a humidifier in the bedrooms. They basically run 24 / 7 Yes, I agree with some of the other reviews, such as the brown, sliminess into the ground, but I do not know me clean as I should, because they are running non-stop. But part of it is also the fact I use a water softener and not distilled water. The water is "soft", so that you do get to influence the slimy. I've actually had salt crystals on the permawick and in the bottom, but that's my water. Noise is another complaint. It's not super quiet, but if you follow the directions and put it on high for about 90 seconds and plug it into the desired configuration works much better Mine does not sound much different than an ordinary table fan. My kids love it and I must admit that, like white noise to fall asleep. What the cast, I cast my second unit, but it was my fault. I used it for 2 years and just never really washed out, but the fungus was when I was upside down the engine while it was wet and the water rose in the upper part (ventilation) and pooled water, which the fungus. I'd recommend a doctor put a small piece of copper (kitchen scrubber pad) into the water to help the growth of bacteria. The cleaning balls are similar to some of the other marks.
