It works well (Updated Dec. 23) I just got this unit (Vicks V790) from Amazon. (For some reason, I much prefer the type of steam humidifiers on the types of cold fog.) Advantages - It 's interesting and well done. Twin water tanks can be filled separately to say that there is no need to turn it off before filling. It contains a lot of water, not dry at night. It makes a nice noise as opposed to a coffee filter. UV lamp function adds an additional level of sterilization, beyond the action that creates hot steam. Cons - The blue light power LED is very bright. I turned to my wall, and now also serves as a night light. (If you really bothers you, a small piece of duct tape to cover it.) (EDIT) Previously I complained here about the lack of steam. But after running for a couple of days, production has increased considerably. Apparently, there is a slight break in period. Of course, increased use of water also, as boiling noise, but now works as it should, and I'm right relative humidity (30%), even in my large (400 square feet) room. Amazon will not let me change the rating, but if I could give him five stars. Replacement pads for the absorption of minerals is limited size 2-1/4 inch round sold here on Amazon under "End-fitting" brand. (Do not allow large Honeywell 3-1/4 inches, unless you want to fit with scissors.) Replace pad when it gets hard. If you have hard water, this can happen quite often. Remember that all humidifiers require regular maintenance. This is where many owners drop the ball. Every month or so you should add a bit of vinegar to dissolve mineral deposits, and sterilize the tanks with bleach. Exactly how is clearly in the manual. If you ignore this, you will be richly rewarded hard and crusty mineral deposits stinky slimy algae and bacteria. Finally, I like this humidifier hitherto Who knew shopping for a humidifier would be so difficult? My new house has gas heat and I found it really dried out place. I was very tired at the beginning of static electricity due to low humidity - I was always basically every time I went somewhere and touched something zapped. I had no idea that shopping for a humidifier would be so difficult. I learned a lot by surfing and reading reviews. I decided that was what I wanted: * "Hot" Humidifier - Let off steam instead of spritzing cool water * Quiet - ok chuckling, noisy fan not working. * Something that I let a relative humidity and would turn off once the level has been reached (I always wanted to come home to avoid an atmosphere of tropical jungle) * Easy to refill * * Easy to Germ-killing UV * spring cleaning tank light enough to run for 10 + hours without charge * Ships from Amazon ($ 15 shipping from third party vendor? no thank you) This humidor is the only one I found that matched all criteria so far I very happy. The phone has no real fan, but a little bit in the middle, enough to make steam to gently float off the top. I get nothing in condensation. It is a fine vapor that appears to be easily absorbed by dry air in my house before he can eventually condense into anything. Topping up is easy. If you look at the image of unity, each side is a blue tank separately. You can run the unit with a tank if you fill the other tank. To fill the tank to turn it upside down, turn the bottom cap, fill it in, tighten the cap and again the drive had no problem at all to spill anything and in fact there is no problem to launch a half full tank to boot. After spending the night I had a nearly empty tank and half more. I am running one of these for a complete family history 3 - If I buy one or two, but is working only because I see a drastic reduction in the static. Basically.
