I do not think before it occurred to me what a terrible product! I thought that some of the negative reviews may have been a bad batch of filters. Well, this was not the case. I used the filter in the humidifier, rinse before use, and the morning turned the water brown. It was terrible. Not only was the brown water in the bottom of the humidifier, but the fog was too brown (because the drops at the booth). Do not even bother with this product. Terrible! Easy to use I bought the Hello Kitty humidifier for my daughter before I realized it had a second filter from Duck Crane humidifier I bought my son. I got the penguin humidifier a week ago after reading several brands, some expensive heat, filter them, great, etc. And I read reports on them to break or leak on this one, and in essence there were some complaints about just about every brand there - always a few problems. So for the $ 30 to these costs which is what I needed (And the fact that it is ridiculously adorable!): Something that was not expensive, not too big and bulky, smaller reservoir, the more water passing through them (and less water always sit ookey) and would add humidity where it was. Quiet and efficient knew I needed a humidifier, and I'm not used to east coast of the dry winter air. But after shopping around on behalf of the warm mist humidifiers, I was horrified by the reviews. Each humidifier seemed to be strong, leaking, and a nuisance. I ended up getting because of the relatively low price, thinking that if it were as bad as everyone else, at least I had not spent much about it. I have no complaints. At the lowest level is almost as strong as a pot of boiling water into the next room. With high definition, can compete with a pot of boiling water in the same room. Sometimes it gets a little winded, but this is rare and does not last long. I'm a light sleeper, and this unit will not wake me up. At the lowest level, a full tank of water lasts a little over 24 hours. In the high scenario, which goes for about 8-9 hours, ideal for jogging at night. It works well (Updated Dec. 23) I just got this unit (Vicks V790) from Amazon. (For some reason, I much prefer the type of steam humidifiers on the types of cold fog.) Advantages - It 's interesting and well done. Twin water tanks can be filled separately to say that there is no need to turn it off before filling. It contains a lot of water, not dry at night. It makes a nice noise as opposed to a coffee filter. UV lamp function adds an additional level of sterilization, beyond the action that creates hot steam. Cons - The blue light power LED is very bright. I turned to my wall, and now also serves as a night light. (If you really bothers you, a small piece of duct tape to cover it.) (EDIT) Previously I complained here about the lack of steam. But after running for a couple of days, production has increased considerably. Apparently, there is a slight break in period.
