Great humidifier, Hunter is now settled, we bought one of these Hunter humidifiers for a few years ago. I found the large tank, low maintenance and no consumables (no wicks or filters to buy). The only problem was, as others have said, often when it is turned off, a gallon or more of the water would quickly dump on my floor. I called the end of the Hunter to complain about, and I must say I was very impressed with their customer service, and easy to fix (new design for the slot), it seems to solve the problem completely. This is a very competent humidifiers, and we are very happy. You will not cool a plume of water vapor spewing from this device see, but it works really well, and it's very easy to clean (just throw parts of the dishwasher and use vinegar and water to de-calcify the other parts). For those shopping for a humidifier, you should decide what is important to you. For me, an ultrasonic them no-go because they spit white powder across my room (mineral dust from our hard water), the hot steam them is a no-go because they want all evil from bacteria, fungi, etc.. I do not get and breathe the stuff is silent while fans far from us really likes it at night, it's a nice gentle buzz that lull us to sleep aid. Nice job hunters to determine the original design flaw, and to support the product as well. good value, when used as "disposable" I treated two of these Hunter humidifiers at the same time and they have a good job of humidifying a 2,000-square meter house (1 up, 1 down). It looks like it non-stop operation during 4 very dry winters. Both devices had similar problems during their 4-year maturities, but my question was not specified in the manufacturer's warranty, so I never pursued a replacement or repair. From my cost per year (based on total purchase price) was $ 20/unit, simply regarded as "disposable" and headed out after the 4th grade this fall, I decide to replace both with the same models or choose a competing product . This is not a "cool mist" humidifier - an evaporation unit with a fan. The motor turns the fan and pump drives a simple plastic impeller that circulates the water. There is a float connected to a switch to turn the unit off when the water level in the boiler is low. My problem: NiteGlow two lights stopped working before the end of the first winter. I had assumed that the user of the long lifetime of LEDs, but it was clearly not the case. During the second winter, I had problems with one of the "float" system, but could fix it myself. During the third and fourth seasons, I had problems with plastic fans rub the plastic and cause noise - especially on "Hi" speed. For their last year of use, I could not run the fan unit fan speed "I" would still rub if intermittently, and it was very boring in the middle of the night or trying to watch TV. In very dry days, the ability to speed "Hi" fan can be really 3-1/2 liters every 24 hours if the humidity is in an elevated position. Fortunately, the catch-all tank Away "is easy to carry and easy to fill a bathtub or a deep sink. The fans have never been" silent "even by one day, but it gives them as background noise after the first week of use. The digital humidistat has worked well until the fourth season, when he died suddenly. automatically turn the fan when the preset humidity level. For me, sometimes they stop working temporarily after the units were clean, but have always started working again after the unit was completely dried. I always had problems with mineral deposits on the filter, pan, and chassis, but that's probably the price for not using paper filter? The water in the tank bottom of units focus more of our local rosé It could probably be overcome with "Serratia marc Esen.
