Duck I originally intended to purchase the OEM brand filter but the price difference (approx 3x the price) made me look at this one. It's a perfect fit, it seems to wick water well, and it has a metal mesh exterior that holds it's shape. If you are on the fence because this filter is not made by Essick or Kenmore don't be, this one works fine. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Nice filter. Excellent wick filter with a metal mesh to provide rigidity. By Samuel A I was a bit hesitant to purchase these off brand filters for my humidifier at first but I am glad I did. They are far and away better than the Sears brand I was using and are much more reasonably priced. The Sears brand would start to sag after a couple of weeks and then shortly fall apart. These filters have a metal mesh on the outside which provides enough rigidity to keep them locked in place and from falling apart.
