Vicks Humidifiers by Eileen Türnberg After several reviews of humidifiers that all gave mixed opinions, which I ignored them all and took this humidifier at the local pharmacy for $ 32nd This humidifier is small, about 11 "WX6" Dx13 "H, so it is suitable to lay on the floor or on a desk. It consists of two main parts, a white plastic base and a clear blue plastic container. The base has two sliding switches. If you turn on / off and the other regulates the amount of water vapor released into the air. The blue container sits on top of the base, and has a handle on top and a round screw-in part. underside of the container supplied complete with a filter that goes on the bottom is a round piece on top of the tank, which turns to adjust and direct stream of water vapor Benefits: ... one is my opinion that it is quiet, much quieter than the Bemis humidifier I had previously wicking. The noise level is comparable to a desk fan that makes noise of water, but I think smooth, but it could be a hassle. 2. It runs for a long time without recharging. With the smallest container of water will last a couple of days of continuous operation. At the highest setting that needs to be refilled once a day. 3. It has no fuse, they start to smell the humidifier on your age. 4. No chemical should be added to avoid the scum growing on it. 5. You can see the water vapor released into the air (so they know their work). 6. See-through containers. You do not have to open it to see how much water is left. 7. Container is defined in the sink for refilling. 8. Relatively easy to clean. Pros: 1. It features automatic shut off when water runs out or when the air has reached the desired moisture. 2. When the container is chosen to be recharged drips that you need a towel with you. When the unit is operating, the water empties into the base of the container where it is converted into steam So, when you remove the container base is still full of water. 3. It needs to be cleaned regularly, at least once a week if you do not mind the scum that grows on it. The base angles that you need a cotton swab to clean. It is recommended to be cleaned with a damp cloth and a solution of bleach and water and rinse well. We have extremely soft water, so do not know how long the filter that comes with the humidifier will last or how it works in places with hard water. From Mom tampa I had an old model for 7 years and was probably just trying to see if I could get another. I remember when I bought it I had a problem making it work. And 'water sensor can be touchy. I took it again and got a new one. I have had absolutely no problem with it in seven years! It is still working to this day I have a small crack in the Water Tank but it is not leaking yet. It runs so quiet and humidifies the air nicely. When the kids are sick I lug it from room to room because the other three humifiers I have stuck under my bathroom sink are loud and do not put out as much mist. I don't use the Demineralization Cartridge, but I do use distilled water or softened water. I don't have any white dust. Jackie 12 of 13 people found the following review helpful. Definately worth the money! By Suzanne I purchased this humidifier several years ago and only use it during the winter. It works perfectly as long as it is cleaned out every week as the manual says. And each year I bought another blue filter. Unfortunately, their is some kind of buildup in the tank so I am not sure if I should use it next winter.
