Vicki was very disappointing was looking for a humidifier (or humidifiers) to my 1900 SF home, and was excited when I came across this model, as it was compact and not as bad as console humidifiers I've seen. Place in my house is a bit "limited, so I liked the fact that its vertical design would provide flexibility in placement. Also, I had luck with in the past Bemis (H12 had two units of the console in black, as a For some reason no longer makes Bemis), so I thought I'd give it a chance. My intention was to order another if it worked well as output of humidifiers are generally quite overwhelming, and I knew that he needed more capacity. What a disappointment! unit has only two speeds, high speed and is strong. Now I know that putting a lot of moisture in the air is necessary to have a pretty good ventilation fan but this is ridiculous. Much stronger than the H12 I had earlier also, the humidity setting only roles, so you must do to return to ride the lowest position. I think that's really more a minor annoyance, but it was disappointing. But the real problem was that the device just does not add moisture to the air. We left it running all night, and barely had the water to evaporate overnight. When we look at the device, there is a big mistake in design, unlike most humidifiers, which air moves into the unit through the wick (which it picks up moisture), in this model, the air is sucked in near the top, and even drove to the top, while the wick is lower in the unit, so most of the air just past the wick. I returned this unit, and must plunge and buy another console H12 unit. I already have a Honeywell HCM-300T, but it is only rated 3 liters per day and used in my bedroom at night. I'm waiting for him to "die" because I like the fact that the cold air reaches the bottom of the unit, doing a project on the ground considered the unpleasant Honeywell 6011i, but I like the fact with two bottles of water (less desirable ), and blows air through the side and not the top. Dean I have used one or a whole house humidifier console for about 5 years. This is by far the easiest to fill in any I have had. Pros: Easy to carry - no screw-tops or tanks to go. Calm standby Top grain water-low is difficult to hit. It takes time and patience, but do not have to take to refill the unit. It is strong in high value. Crackling noise is unbearable by Deborah Potter This humidifier is easy to fill, easy to use The problem is that the fan / motor rattles most of the time, and the noise is unbearable. The rattle persists on both low and high speeds. When the clicking stops, the noise is bearable, but the calm did not last. Moving the linoleum tile unit makes no difference. The Sears models are much quieter. Another problem is that the filter was put in place, rather than in a sterile, so it was dirty on arrival. See all 18 customer reviews ....
