Despite the frequent cleaning and care, we had to replace the humidifier filter a few weeks. We started with bacteriostatic Holmes last winter and had to replace the filter only once, three quarters of the way through the winter. Follow save the directions on the bottle and not only money by not replacing with too humidifier filter as often, but it can also save you from breathing mold spores on a filter untreated (before looks like the filter needs changing). 2 of 2 people found this review helpful. No smell of Julie Kennedy is an excellent product. You do not have a musty smell coming from the humidifier. Filters are also last longer and there are many in this bottle and all you need is a capfull fill the tank every time something bad is the strong chemical smell when you open the bottle, but there is no smell comes from the humidifier. 2 of 2 people found this review helpful. Get more out of life of the filter! J. Ross First we tried the S1708 in our MA0800 Humidifier, we had to replace the filter once a month. I would buy a case of 6 filters for $ 60 more each winter. Since our baby is born, we decided to leave the humidifier running all year. I used a bottle of this command and then another, and only used 2 filters of this year. I went to change as usual, but the filter was like new. The only time I had to change the filter when we left for a couple of weeks with the water in the tank.
