Care & Maintenance Wipe the fan enclosure, control panel, and cord with a damp cloth or sponge. Each day, lift off the fan enclosure, remove the filter and empty the water tank and tray into the sink, rinsing to remove any dirt or sediment. Wipe clean, then dry with a clean cloth or paper towel, reinstall and refill the water tank with cool tap water. Once a week, remove scale caused by hard water deposits by cleaning tank and tray in a dishwasher or washing by hand. Inspect the filter each week. If it becomes hard to the touch, or shows discoloration (caused by mineral deposits or mold/mildew buildup) it should be replaced.

By Rob Mattheu As a child growing up, I always had the type of impeller humidifiers, where a tube spinning draw water in it and then throw it into a visible haze. Although these could be very effective, they had the disadvantage of being strong and soaking everything around them. When my daughter was born, we got an ultrasonic humidifier. The fog was a bit 'finest, but once again, had a tendency to absorb everything around it, and the scale has created about himself and his surroundings with tap water. So this time I decided to go with the type of evaporative humidifier . With these, a fan pulls moisture wick filter, which then paid for the room. These types of humidifiers have the advantage that self-regulation, because evaporation is faster in a dry, more slowly in a damp room. Moreover, capture minerals and bacteria in the water filter instead of spraying them in space, the disadvantages they need to be expensive filter, and you have to treat the water to kill bacteria, mold, and that keep building on the extent of filters and components. Both can, plus a few drops humidifier treatments available at your local Wal-Mart can be achieved. With all this in mind, I compare many offers and eventually switched to Graco 1.5 liter cool mist humidifier. This compact unit appears to be far more durable than other brands at a similar price, and because its components are dishwasher safe, it's much easier to give it a thorough cleaning. Although the device could be considered noisy, especially on the high setting, the low setting very pleasant for me, with beautiful white noise counteract background noise.
