Perfect finish, the installation efficiency Tennis Dave I spent a night farewell dehumidifiers Consumer Reports, Amazon, and elsewhere, to understand what should I use for a wet floor after the winter of 2010 on the East Coast. I realized, finally, plowing through all the hype, the "70 pints" does not refer to the volume of the bucket, but the speed with which the dehumidifier can remove water vapor in the air: 70 pints per day, but the buckets are still about 2 liters. This should be clarified in the review and advertising. For a basement wall blocks, with the French drains in an area with high water table or any room where water is liquid, it has the highest rate so that the unit cycle on and off. If not, is seriously waste power. This unit (Frigidaire FAD704TDP) is not recommended by Consumer Reports, but by others who were involved in the drying rate and noise. This unit is almost silent! It is a bucket filled with 2-Gal in a few hours in a 40x60 foot basement, without liquid water, but with a damp basement during the night, the difference was significant, within two days, was dry and without smells more habitable. The bikes more than 1-3 hours, depending on the rains, when it is set to 40% humidity, and I would assume that the settings may need more or less at other times of year. I built a clear vinyl hose from the parts of hardware, and running water in small cup attached to HVAC home. The unit should be placed in an "8 boxes (wood) with wheels to prevent rolling off to see the water hose was important to appear as grunge;. Flush away when not, which ultimately blocked pipes and defeated dehumidifier. The built-in air filter is designed to remove mold spores to prevent this problem. A very good product, recommended for sure. 187 out of 189 people found this review helpful. It worked well, but not David Snyder I liked this dehumidifier for the season and a half it lasted. I used it in a basement and connecting a drain hose for continuous operation. I had a hard time keeping my basement for 50 - 60% humidity and never had to do more than check and clean the filter every two weeks. I felt the sound was reasonable for a basement. The cube was a bit difficult to remove, but you are already connected to a hose that does not bother me too much. Unfortunately it seems that you can not build a dehumidifier that will last longer. This did not stop completely, but it seems that something went wrong with humidistat or electronics. Then the problems started the drive is always shown as 95% moisture and ran continuously. I checked the hose and there was still plenty of moisture is removed, so I think the compressor was still strong. Since I have a extended warranty (I bought it from HH Gregg) I went back for repair, but decided it was too expensive to repair, and now I've had to replace it, I can take a chance on another Frigidaire, or perhaps the soleus 70 pint model. I give three stars because although it works fine at first, I think a device like this should last for at least 5 years, and even if something goes wrong they should be repaired. The star power does not mean anything if there is a flow of these at a landfill, because they do not last. UPDATE 02/06/2010: I decided to go with this unit as a replacement for my unit to Frigidaire 70 pint before. Just a warning, the unit I had a little different ... More like this: I thought http://www.amazon.com/Frigidaire-70-pint-Dehumidifier/dp/B001UH91OI/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1275532106&sr=1-20 d First, it could be old stock but the manufacturing date was 3 / 10, so I have wrong. I hope my warranty will transfer, because I have a feeling I'm going through all this again in 64 years a pair of 66 people.
