By Amie Lind, we have "Hello Kitty" humidifier and I bought this filter in the hope of reducing the humidifier white dust, but everything ended up happening is that the water in the humidifier was a dingy yellow-brown and my daughter room full of white powder. We had to open windows and turn on the attic fan just to clear everything. I'm not sure why this happened. Follow the directions on the package (even if it is 100% fool-proof, all you have to do is put the filter in the bottom of the unit).
