Just OK My advice is to keep the original cap in case you choose, this filter is not for you. He managed to stop mineral deposits accumulate more on the side of the tank, but won the water using a musty smell after 15 gallons / three weeks. I disinfect with chlorine water every two weeks. He was particularly warm in heated rooms. The risk of bacterial growth outweighs the benefits of the filter for me and I do not recommend this product. Useful, but not much, I bought the Crane Penguin Humidifiers about 2 months. The filter came a week later. My experience relates to people who use hard tap. So far I have found that although the filter has contributed to the humidifier seemed a bit cleaner (I clean it once a week with diluted bleach into the tank and the vinegar to the base), reduce it to work with white dust (minerals from hard water) for a little over a month, with the humidifier at a low or medium. I'm thinking of using distilled water instead - it might work cheaper than having to replace the filter every two months I would definitely recommend keeping the original ceiling of the tank and try out the humidifier with and without filter. The white powder, I have a lot of these Crane humidifiers. We have a lot of minerals in our water, so I got these filters. Some of the humidifiers made too much noise for use in a bedroom. They are extremely cute, though, and inexpensive. I had the white powder everywhere, even with filters, even after using the water that runs a second carbon filter. If you are serious about these humidifiers, use distilled water. So you will not need these filters. Information about the white powder, I mean literally everywhere, in the DVD player, for example. I stopped all the Crane humidifiers and put them on. I was very sad for this because they are so cute. They did raise the humidity around 10%.
